How to clean Shar Pei ears

Shar Pei only have small ear canals, because of this they will need to have there ears flushed weekly. Check your dogs ears and if they are dirty then you will need to flush them. Goto your local chemist and buy a 5ml syringe. Then you can....

1. put into a warm pint of water a teaspoon of Bicarbonate Of soda and mix well.

or

2. put into a warm pint of water a teaspoon of white vinegar and mix well

put into syringe and squirt the liquid into the ear canal, then gently massage both ears. Then let your dog go. Your dog will then shake its head, this is a good thing. Job done !

Hi, havnt been doing very much just lately, its been very cold and wet. It was my birthday on the 8th of December....Im 1 year old !! i got some chews and they were very nice. I spent most of the day at nanna and grandads because they look after me when mum and dad are at work. I do like it there because grandad chases me and when he catches me we have a play fight, but i always win !

Hi, i have some exciting news, i have just passed my "The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme Bronze Award" my mum and dad said they are very proud of me. My dad helped as well because he answerd some questions about how to look after me.

My dad has a message for you........ Hi im Humphreys dad, when me and Humphreys mum first started training Humphrey was a nightmare very stubborn, yes a typical Shar Pei. He had a fight within 5 minutes of starting his first class ! but we stuck at it and over the past few weeks he has been great and so different from when we first went to training. So if you have a Shar pei i highly recommend you take your dog to some form of dog training. Our first intentions where just to socialise him with other dogs and didnt think he could get an award but he has and hes a pleasure to take to training now.

Hi, ive been to my nanna and grandads alot just lately, they look after me when my mum and dad are at work. I like it there because lots of cats come into the garden and i get to chase them !! i didnt have a problem with cats until i see one outside my house, i went over to play with it but it hit me acrooss the face with its paw so i chased it down the street and now i chase them all the time !

Hi, i went to dog training with my dad on thursday, it had been raining and the grass was wet and i dont like to sit or lay on wet grass !! my dad wasnt very happy with me because i wouldnt do anything, all i wanted to do was play with the dog next to me. But something happend that scared me, i had to walk next to my dad when he shouted at me to lay down hes never shouted at me before ! so i layed down and stayed there for a long time. I thought he was very angry with me but he said what a good boy i had been and gave me a treat !

message from my dad.... i learnt at training this week that i had to show Humphrey whos the boss and had to be a bit more strict with him at training, and it made such a difference. I must admit me and his mum have been a bit soft with him and never really rased our voices or been strict with him so we have been struggling at dog training but now i have shown him whos boss at trianing hes learning alot faster !!

Hi, i met another Shar Pei on the beach on saturday he was called Romeo. He was 2 years old and alot bigger than me...looks like ive still got alot of growing to do. I first see Romeo in the car park, we looked at each other, he growled at me so i growled at him. We then jumped up at each other thats when dad told me to calm down. Later on the beach we met again and dad let me of my lead. Me and Romeo did some more growling but then went for a paddle. Mum and dad said they were proud of me and that i was a good boy !!

Hi everyone, ive been busy this week, although the weather hasnt been very nice. Mum and dad said i have been very good at dog training the last 2 weeks. I layed down for the first time at dog training this week, i only do it because i get lots of nice treats ! normaly i only like to lay down at home on a nice warm carpet. I have met lots of new friends on my walks, although i still dont like them nasty Rotweillers ! Mum said there not all nasty some are lovely....but i dont care i just dont like them !!!!

Hi, mum and dad have been away for a week and ive been staying with my mums friend Rachael.
I had a nice time but i did miss my mum and dad. Im back home now guarding the house and barking at strangers. Last week on the morning my mum and dad where going away i was attacked by a small dog, i only wanted to play but it bit my face and cut me i didnt fight back because it was only a small dog. My mum rushed me to the vets but he said it didnt need stitches, i dony know what they are but they sound scary ! mum was crying but it didnt hurt that much.

Hi, i went for my first day of dog training yesterday....it was a bit scary, mum kept saying its your first day at school ! the teacher said im a bit stubborn and wouldnt do as i was told. But all i wanted to do was play with the other dogs...although there was a Rottweiler there called Tiny, i dont like them because one tried to hurt me when i was very small....But mum said not all Rottweilers are the same and i should make friends with Tiny....but i dont want to !!

Hi, went for a walk today with mum and dad. Four other dogs where playing in the field with there mum and dad, they looked like they where having so much fun so i went over to them to see if i could play. As i got close to the dogs one came over and growled and then bit me on the face around my mouth. I dont know what came over me but i showed my teeth growled back and then jumped at the dog nearly pushing it over, i was very angry im only 7 and a half months old and all i wanted was to play with the other dogs ! My dad grabbed hold of me, he looked really shocked but said i was a good boy for defending myself. My mouth was bleeding but it didnt hurt that much. Dad explained to me that sometimes this would happen because im a Shar Pei and i look strange to some dogs and some dogs are just bullies !! all i want to do is play with other dogs.

Hi, Im Humphrey The Blue Shar Pei

Hello every one, im Humphrey the blue Shar Pei. Im a 13 weeks old puppy. I moved into my new home 4 weeks ago. Its a lovely house with a nice garden and my new mummy and daddy look after me. The first couple of weeks in my new home i cried a bit but i dont cry much now. I used to wee on the paper in the house but now i go into the garden on my own !! oh and i did poo on the kitchen floor a few times . I dont poo in the house any more. I will tell you more about my adventures very soon.
